Ted DiBiase Early Life:
Theodore Marvin DiBiase Sr. was born in Miami, Florida. He is the biological son of wrestlers Helen Nevins and Ted Wills, an entertainer, and singer.
Moreover, he is the adopted son of wrestler “Iron” Mike DiBiase. He married his mother when he was 4 years old. His adoptive father, Mike, died of a heart attack when DiBiase was 15 years old.
Seven-time NWA World Champion Harley arrived at the Race Ring and performed CPR, but failed to save Iron Mike’s life.
In response, his mother suffered from depression and alcoholism. So, DiBiase moved to Will Cox, Arizona to live with her grandparents.
He attended Creighton Preparatory High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended West Texas State University on a football scholarship.
While there, he became a member of the Alpha Tau Omega community. However, due to an injury in his senior year, he later dropped out of college to pursue a career in professional wrestling.

He then moved to the middle south of Bill Watts, where he grew up as Iron Mike’s son in 1975, where he wrestled for four years.
DiBiase entered All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) in 1983. He won the NWA United National Championship on October 14, 1983, defeating Jerry Lawler in a tournament.
Three months later, on January 28, 1984, DiBiase lost the title to Michael Hayes. DiBiase’s mother, Helen Hild, died two months later, on March 4, 1984.
DiBiase returned to the WWF on May 15, 1987, as the face of a child on a house show in Houston, Texas. He came into the ring announcing to the audience that it was only fitting that he was now competing in the WWF.
