Early Life:

Thomas was born on May 27, 1968, in Columbus, Georgia to Charlie Mae Thomas and Frank Thomas Sr. Thomas’s family was working class.

He hit a home run-off pitcher Gary Wayne in the top of the ninth inning as his team lost 12-6. Thomas played 60 games with the White Sox in 1990, batting .330 with seven home runs and 31 runs (RBI).

Thomas signed a one-year, $500,000 contract with Oakland Athletics on January 26, 2006. Athletics installed Thomas as their daily DH.

He started the season slowly but ended the season as a team leader in home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, and on 20%.
